A tale of two sweaters

Well...I started the February Ladies Sweater....details to follow.
I also re-started  a vest that I had previously knitted in size small since, y'know, my bust size is 36.  Duh! That is NOT the size of your sweater.  Here I go again, knitting it in Medium and it looks way better already. :)

So...I knit a little on the FLS and then I knit a little on my vest.
Did I mention I'm also trying to finish a baby sweater?
Pictures soon.

The Log Cabin Wall Hanging 2009

Behold the lowly Log Cabin wall hanging, how it hangs so proudly on the wall....OK...OK.... I am so proud  of this thing that I knit for daughter Jen's home.
Too bad my photo isn't touchable so you can feel the textures of the different yarns that helped to make this.

Pocket Prayer Shawls

A pocket prayer shawl is tiny, just 3 x 5 inches, but packs just as many prayers for its recipient.
Here's a picture of one with a fish knitted into the center, pattern from http://www. shawlministry.com.
Forty-five women showed up at a recent Sacred Stitches event hosted by St. Thomas', Lancaster.  I started Sacred Stitches, a Diocesan-wide group, a year and a half ago after the idea for such a group was suggested to me.  The goal of "knitting" our very large(Episcopal) Diocese of Central PA  closer together, one stitch at a time has become a labor of love.   We meet quarterly in various churches to share our ideas and fellowship.   Many of our parishes have their own existing group , such as our Blankets and Sew On group at St. John's, Lancaster.  While some groups have the main goal of creating prayer shawls, our group at St. John's varies it a bit, by knitting/crocheting/sewing lots of different items (hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters, toys, and prayer shawls) for needy local residents.  We invite anyone who wants to learn to our Sacred Stitches events.  It's so cool!

The Neck Warmer

Well.........I'm still learning, so the picture you see is NOT the beautiful neck warmer in the feather and fan stitch which I can't figure out how to upload to my blog. Instead, you are being treated to my two loverly adopted doggies: Max and Gracie. The naked one with the red hair is Manic Max. Gracie the bossy dachsund is the one clothed in my very first doggie sweater. It's not my beautiful neck warmer, but hey! It's one of my knitting finished objects. Stay warm!

February Lady's Sweater

Whoa! What a day it was....I found the coolest sweater at a local yarn store and was told I could print out the pattern from the website, http://www.flintknits.com/patterns, and my old Mac got cantankerous, refused to open up the link to produce anything legible. Ohhh, the frustration. So, desperate times called for desperate measures. I took myself down to the city library, signed on to a computer and got me my pattern. Now to knit the thing.

Friday the 13th

Hooray! This is my entry into blogging. Part of me is terrified! The other part's winning, so here goes.
I love to knit. I love to learn about knitting and people and places. Friends know that I would be happy knitting just about anywhere. (I haven't quite figured out kwk (knitting while kayaking) yet. It's only a matter of time..
